What does the Good Steward Ministry do for your church?
- Supports vision
- Trains members
- Develops financial support
Before you begin a stewardship program, it is good to step back and consider why your church should spend the time, effort and money to develop a program. What evidence is there in the church that indicates a need for members to be better stewards?
- A dynamic, powerful life for Christ is not evident in many Christians.
- Churches are seeing a diminishing number of volunteers.
- FirstFruits
giving of most Christians, which affects the ministry of the local church and beyond, is decreasing.
- Many of our members' lifestyles reflect personal goals and ambitions at the expense of the Christian community.
- Many family relationships are fractured because of poor money management.
In working with more than 500 churches leaders, Barnabas Foundation has learned that the closer we work with a church, the more effective the stewardship program. Good Steward Ministry defines and
implements a commitment of both Barnabas Foundation and your church for a dynamic stewardship program.
Objectives for Good Steward Ministry churches:
Churches
- Support ongoing ministries and inspire new opportunities.
- Train and equip members for ministry.
- Encourage and secure financial support for these ministries.
Members
- A dynamic, intimate relationship with the Lord.
- Minimizing of stress in the home due to poor financial stewardship.
- Greater use of gifts and time for ministries in the church and beyond.
Together we will develop and implement a strategy for use of these gifts to accomplish the mission and vision of the church.
Our Good Steward Ministry program will help identify the gifts (time, talent, treasure) of church members. Together with the church we will develop and implement a strategy for use of these gifts.
