When the offering is received, the deacons go to the pastor to allow him/her to give his/her offering. It is a visual reminder for the people to see that the pastor is doing exactly what they are being asked to do. It is also a reminder that we ALL have the privilege and the joy of giving. It helps children understand that the deacons aren't bringing the money to the pastor, but that the pastor also contributes just like others of the congregation.
