O God; great, giving, generous God;
We have just opened our hands to give of our wealth.
Bless now these gifts and our giving.
And yet for a little while,
keep our hands open so that we might give again
when we see the needs of any of your people,
or our own need to give.
And yet a little longer, O God,
keep our hands open
that we might receive and give thanks
for all good gifts from You. Amen.
Here, O God, is some of our money,
perhaps torn or dirty.
Here are some checks,
perhaps scribbled and wrinkled.
These are our gifts.
Now may these gifts, and we who give them
be accepted and blessed and enriched.
And as we prepare for our act of consecration
may we be further blessed through the act of
giving --
Your giving to us and our giving to You
through this church and its mission.
